The Easiest Holiday Hack: Pecan Pie Brownies with Cake Mix!
Hey bakers and dessert fans, we all love a classic homemade holiday treat, but sometimes, especially during the busy season, we need a shortcut that still tastes amazing.
That’s where this recipe comes in: Pecan Pie Brownies made with a simple box of cake mix!
This dessert gives you the chewy, fudgy goodness of a brownie with a rich, gooey pecan pie filling on top. It’s the best of both worlds, and the secret is using cake mix for the easiest, chewiest crust.
Why You’ll Love This Easy Pecan Pie Brownie Recipe
This is the dessert you make when you want to impress without the mess. Here’s the appeal:
- Easy Brownie Base: Forget melting butter, sifting flour, and measuring cocoa powder. Using a boxed chocolate cake mix (Fudge or Devil’s Food works best) drastically reduces prep time. You mix the cake mix with a few simple ingredients (like melted butter and an egg), press it into your pan, and boom, you have a perfect, ready-to-bake brownie crust.
- Amazing Taste: The rich chocolate brownie layer pairs perfectly with the sweet pecan pie topping. The flavors balance out, so the dessert tastes fancy even though it’s simple to make. You get fudgy, gooey, and crunchy in every bite.
- Great for Potlucks and Gifts: These brownies hold their shape, slice easily, and travel well. They also make wonderful gifts in a holiday tin.
The Secret is in the Layers
You can make this rich dessert in just two easy steps:
- The BrowBrownie Base: Mix cake mix, melted butter, and an egg until combined. Press this dough into a baking dish to make the chewy chocolate layer.
- Pecan Pie Crown: On top of that chocolate base, you simply pour the traditional pecan pie filling mixture (pecans, corn syrup/maple syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla). As it bakes, the pecan pie topping turns sticky and caramelized, blending perfectly with the fudgy brownie underneath.
If you want to skip complicated holiday recipes and try a dessert that’s quick, easy to take along, and always disappears fast, Pecan Pie Brownies are the answer.
