About

Welcome to Our Texas Whisk!

Hi there! We are so glad you’ve found your way to our corner of the kitchen (and the backyard).

Our Texas Whisk is a husband-and-wife labor of love born from two of our biggest passions: the rich, vibrant flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine and the rugged, open-flame spirit of Texas outdoor cooking.

Two Hearts, One Whisk (and a Grill)

For us, the kitchen and the patio has always been the heart of the home. This blog is where our styles meet. While one of us is inside perfecting a family recipe for nopalitos or whisking up a batch of traditional pan dulce, the other is usually outside tending to the coals.

We believe that the best memories are made over a shared meal, whether it’s a slow-simmered guisado on the stove or a perfectly charred carne asada fresh off the grill.

Why We Started This Blog

Living in Texas, we’ve learned that you don’t need a massive grocery budget or fancy, “gourmet” ingredients to create an incredible feast. We started this blog to show you how to honor authentic Mexican traditions while keeping things budget-friendly and practical for a busy home.
