Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps the skin get extra crispy. Put the wings in a large bowl, add the olive oil, and toss to coat. Sprinkle on the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, then toss again until all the wings are well seasoned.
3 lbs chicken wings, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, 2 tbsp corn starch
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Place the wings in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between each so air can circulate around them. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
While the wings cook, mix the bourbon, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce in a bowl until smooth. Pour this into a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring often. Let it cook for 8 to 10 minutes until it thickens into a shiny glaze. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter until melted.
¼ cup bourbon, ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup ketchup, 3 garlic cloves, minced, 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp butter
Put the hot, crispy wings in a large bowl. Pour the warm bourbon sauce over them and toss until all the wings are coated. Arrange them on a platter, add green onions if you like, and serve right away while they’re hot.
